Shun the “I Can’t” and Dare to Succeed

Welcome to the video series that’s all about climbing the ladder of vibration and manifesting the life of your dreams. I’m Stephanie Mulac, and today we’re going to be tackling negative self-talk.

So picture this, your best friend calls you and wants to have lunch with you because she has something really important to tell you, so you’re sitting down over lunch, and she starts to detail this phenomenal idea she has for a new business venture, and she is so excited, and she just is laying out all the different steps and the vision that she has and everything else. Now, as her best friend, would you sit there and look at her and go…
…“I don’t think you’re capable of doing that.”
…“No, I don’t think you’re going to be able to succeed.”
…“I don’t think you have the skills to do what it takes to be able to accomplish what you’re talking about.”
…“I think you’re gonna fail before you even get started.”
…“Why would you even take your time and waste your energy on doing something like this when you know going into it that you’re going to fail?”

Would you say that to a friend? Of course not. But why do you let your internal voice say it to yourself when you are embarking on similar things? Whether it’s a new relationship, a business endeavor, a career move, anything that you are looking to accomplish, maybe it’s weight loss and the negative self-talk that starts coming in the back of your mind about all of the reasons why this is either not going to work, or it’s going to fail because of something that’s happened in the past, all of these different things are the things that you do to yourself, but why would you do it to yourself if you wouldn’t dream of doing it to a friend? You truly should be upholding yourself every bit, if not more so, than a friend, and the last thing that you should be doing is knocking yourself down when those feelings of enthusiasm and energy start to rise.

So the next time you find yourself doing this, think about you sitting across the table from that friend or that person that you care about, maybe it’s a spouse, maybe it’s a child, think about how you would react to them, and then ask yourself, when you’re doing this to yourself, and those inner demons are creating that negative self-talk, if this is the way that you would treat others. This will give you an opportunity to put it in check and treat yourself as well or even better than you treat others.
