Welcome to the video series that’s all about climbing the ladder of vibration and manifesting the life of your dreams. I’m Stephanie Mulac and today we are going to be talking about succeeding by example.
Now, you know the type of person that I’m about to describe because I’m sure you’ll have seen it a hundred times. You go on Facebook and somebody makes a post that says, “I have turned over a new leaf, I am going to do this and this. I am going to make these sweeping changes. I am going to do all of these things and they detail what it is.”
They put it out there and they get all of their friends to comment on it and then a month later, nothing has changed. The only thing that’s changed is that there’s this long growing thread of everybody weighing in on this massive change that this person has outlined. Some people supporting it. Some people knocking holes in it, some people undermining the very concept of it and it’s not just on Facebook. A lot of people do this in one on one life with friends, co-workers, spouses, significant others. They decide that they’re going to make a change and they have to announce it to the world.
As they’re making this announcement, they are gathering all kind of feedback as if somehow subconsciously before they even take that first step, they’ve thought about it. They’ve put it out there on friend’s street and then they’re waiting for validation. They’re waiting for people to give them a reason not to take action and that’s exactly where it gets left on the shelf.
A mere thought with no action ever behind it and you see this also in situations in January, called New Year’s Resolutions. People will put those things out there that they are going to make this change and that change and so often, by February it’s a forgotten thing. What I challenge you to do is the next time you have that big revelation of some change that you’re going to make, whether or not it’s losing five pounds, whether or not it is going for a new job or going for a promotion at work or starting a business or whatever the case might be.
In many ways, try to change it and just simply keep it to yourself and I’m not saying hide it. I am not saying, don’t give people the opportunity to be happy for you or cheer you along. What I’m saying is succeed by action. Make your actions the things that people will applaud. Instead of saying, I am going to lose 20 pounds in the next month. Put them out losing those pounds and then put a photo up at the end of 30 days and let people say, “OH MY GOD”, you look phenomenal. What have you done to lose that weight? Because then at that point, they are applauding your success.
You are not seeking their validation on day 1, and having them put you under a microscope the entire time. You are showing them your action. You are showing them what you have accomplished and then giving them an opportunity to react to it. You are not seeking validation; you are succeeding by action.
